Women speaks to a circle of people

Epilepsy Surgery Support Group

Hosted in partnership with Toronto Western Hospital’s Epilepsy Program.

This group seeks to bring together people with epilepsy who have done surgery with those who are considering surgery as a treatment option. The decision to do brain surgery is a complex one; one that has to be weighed in light of risks vs benefits. Connecting with others who have been there can help with the decision-making process.  Attendees are encouraged to bring family members along too if they wish, so they too can learn and share.

This group is facilitated online by Rosie Smith, our Director of Adult Services. An individual intake session is required before joining any of our support groups. For more information about our Surgery Support Group or to join the group, please speak with your Epilepsy Toronto counsellor or complete an intake form to be connected with one.
