Employment Opportunity – Marketing Researcher Summer Jobs
Summer Position: May to September (flexible dates)
10-week full-time, Remote position

Job Description:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Marketing Researcher to join our team. As a Marketing Researcher, you will work on three exciting projects, each focused on different aspects of marketing and non-profit/small business development. You’ll gain hands-on experience in market research, data analysis, and planning.

Responsibilities:
1. Small Business Launch Project:

  • Conduct market research for the start of a coffee cart social-purpose enterprise.
  • Develop the program’s Marketing Mix based on the Ps of marketing, and SWOT analysis.
  • Analyze competitive landscapes and comparable business offerings.
  • Create reports and presentations summarizing findings.

2. Employment Services Program Enhancement:

  • Collaborate with our team to enhance existing employment services offerings from a core business model to a performance model.
  • Analyze competitive landscapes and comparable business offerings using the Porter forces.
  • Determine new areas to market existing services to increase referrals and service usage.
  • Propose innovative ideas for improving program effectiveness.

3. Generalized Market Research:

  • Assist in collecting and analyzing market data for non-employment services programs.
  • Identify growth opportunities and recommend actionable insights.
    Qualifications:
  • Currently, enrolled in or just graduated from a marketing, business, or related program.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Excel, and other data analysis tools.
  • Excellent communication skills/presentation skills and ability to work independently.
  • Knowledge of epilepsy, an asset
  • Due to funding limitations; applicants
    ○ be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment;
    ○ be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment*; and, have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.

**This position is dependent on Canada Summer Jobs Funding and must adhere to their required qualifications.

Location:
Our office is in Toronto but there are options for remote work available.

Employment Opportunity – Fundraising Coordinator Summer Jobs
Summer Position: May to September (flexible dates)
10-week full-time, Remote position

Job Description:
This position will work with the Director of Development on planning, organizing, and executing our three summer events. The Purple Walk for Epilepsy (June 15th), the Toronto International BuskerFest, and Bark in the Park events (Aug 30-Sept 2).

Responsibilities:

● Customer/Member/Registrant outreach and communications
● Database management
● Logistical support (supplier research and management, production scheduling, entertainment
scheduling etc.)
● Auction support
● Onsite fundraising support
● Volunteer scheduling and management
● Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

● Experience in a relevant field (Event Planning, Communication, Non-Profit Management or other
relevant field)
● Experience with stakeholder communication and partnership development
● Customer service skills
● Strong written and verbal communication skills
● Knowledge of epilepsy, an asset
● Due to funding limitations; applicants
○ be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment;

Volunteer with Epilepsy Toronto!

Volunteer Opportunity –  Twice a month- 3h shift
Honorarium $60 per shift

Location: Dolphin Bingo 1911 Eglinton Ave E, Scarborough, ON M1L 2L6

Epilepsy Toronto is seeking enthusiastic individuals with a passion for customer service to volunteer at Dolphin Bingo. As a charitable BINGO establishment, Dolphin Bingo donates the proceeds of its earnings to charitable partners that provide support services to Toronto residents. The funds raised through volunteer efforts at Dolphin Bingo are vital for Epilepsy Toronto. These funds provide essential support for a variety of programs and services, including counseling, support groups, and educational initiatives. The stable and ongoing funding from Dolphin Bingo allows Epilepsy Toronto to continue offering critical resources to individuals and families affected by epilepsy in the Toronto area.

Position Overview:

Volunteers will work in teams of two or three to assist with various tasks at Dolphin Bingo. These tasks include ensuring the gaming areas are clean, returning beverage containers to the bar, and appropriately disposing of bingo sheets.

Responsibilities:

  • Represent Epilepsy Toronto in a professional manner.
  • Work collaboratively to maintain a tidy and presentable bingo hall.
  • Collect and dispose of discarded bingo sheets.
  • Arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled shift.
  • Wear the Epilepsy Toronto branded shirt provided by the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to work for consecutive hours.
  • Access to a mobile phone or email for communication.
