Youth Employment Program Participant Page

REGISTRATION IS CURRENTLY CLOSED

Due to an exceptionally high number of registrations, we are closing enrollment for now except for youth from rural communities (a community with a population of less than 1,000).

We will reassess and potentially reopen registration in August or September, depending on program availability. Please check back here in the summer.

If you are from a rural community, please email [email protected] to find out if you are eligible.

About SeizeABILITY!:

SeizeABILITY! is an eight-week paid initiative that combines career planning, hands-on work experience, and specialized online training to help youth with epilepsy unlock their full potential in the workplace. This program is a fantastic opportunity for participants to:

  • Gain valuable insights into career planning and professional development.
  • Understand how epilepsy and related conditions may impact work life.
  • Learn how to identify and request appropriate workplace accommodations.
  • Develop disclosure strategies and enhance goal-setting skills.
A graphic for Epilepsy Toronto’s youth employment program, SeizeABILITY. The top half features a diverse group of four young adults smiling and reaching toward the camera in a circle. Below, bold text reads, 'Youth Employment SeizeABILITY!' with 'ABILITY' highlighted in green. The subheading states, 'A new province-wide employment program.' The requirements are listed with checkmark icons: ages 16 to 30, Ontario residency, and living with epilepsy and/or a related condition. A call-to-action button in green reads 'Register Now,' and a website link 'epilepsytoronto.org/seizeability' is displayed. At the bottom, a smiling young man with a backpack and tablet is featured, with a funding acknowledgment from the Government of Canada’s Youth Employment and Skills Strategy, alongside the Canadian flag logo.

Paid Training and Work Experience:

Participants in the SeizeABILITY program will be paid for both the training and work experience placements, making this a unique opportunity for youth to gain both knowledge and practical skills while earning an income. Training will take place online and work placements will be local to the participant or virtual.

Note: If you’re an employer looking to learn more about how to get involved with SeizeABILITY! and offer a placement, please visit our Employer page.
