UPLIFT is a mindfulness-based cognitive behavioural therapy group for adults with epilepsy who are experiencing depression, anxiety, and/or stress, with a focus on employment. The hour-long support group will be hosted online for 8 consecutive weeks.

This free program will guide you through a series of workshops designed to help you manage the stressful areas of your life and learn new skills in self-management. The program will start on March 2, and run weekly until April 20.

The sessions teach valuable coping strategies and topics that include: coping and relaxing, monitoring thoughts, and preventing future low moods.

Participants must:

  • be at least 18 years old
  • be a caregiver for someone who is living with epilepsy
  • and be struggling with depression or anxiety.

This 8-week session takes place on Thursdays, from October 19 to December 7, and is specifically for caregivers. It is being led by Eden Peters, one of Epilepsy Toronto’s Child & Youth Services Coordinators. There are other UPLIFT programs offered for people living with epilepsy, their partners, or with a focus on employment.
