Hello! My name is Jamie and I’m a Social Worker here at Epilepsy Toronto. Prior to joining the team here, I spent seven years working in the epilepsy space with Epilepsy Ottawa. Now I am dividing my time between the two agencies, focusing primarily on the Functional Seizure Program with Epilepsy Toronto. I have my Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Carleton University in Ottawa and am registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW). I joined the team in Ottawa as a student and stayed on post-graduation to continue helping a community that has continued to need support. Throughout my time at Epilepsy Ottawa, I helped develop much needed support programming as well as increased client engagement significantly. Apart from epilepsy, I have spent many hours of my spare time working in the type one diabetes community by volunteering and serving as an advocate for those who are struggling. I hope to bring my knowledge and experience in the field to help create, implement and expand the Function Seizure Program here at Epilepsy Toronto.
