The Epilepsy Toronto Employment Services Department is thrilled to be able to partner with ABC Life Literacy Canada and TD Bank to offer a free engaging workshop series, Money Matters. Facilitated by TD volunteers, this workshop series offers learners a whole new spin on planning, saving and other factors, including Registered Disability Savings Plans and more. Offered throughout the month of March, each session will focus on specific subjects to help you manage your money more effectively!
Spending Plans (March 3)
This week’s workshop will focus on spending and budgeting. Through this workshop, learners will be able to understand their money situation, keep track of income and expenses, and determine their needs and wants. Using these tools, learners will then create a spending plan that works best for them.

Upcoming Money Matters Workshops
Ways to Save (March 10th, 2:00 – 4:00 pm):
This workshop will explore the different ways to save for the future. Learners will be taught about interest and how it grows. They’ll also learn about the various saving plans that are available, such as Registered Education Savings Plans, Tax-Free Savings Accounts, Registered Retirement Savings Plans, and Registered Disability Savings Plans, and many more.
Borrowing Money (March 17th, 2:00 – 4:00 pm):
This workshop will focus on credit. After this workshop, learners will understand what credit is, how credit works, what credit can do for them, how to manage credit, and how to build credit history and why it’s important.
Banking Basics (March 24th, 2:00 – 4:00 pm):
This workshop will teach learners what banks can do for them. Learners will be taught about the different kinds of bank accounts and how to choose the bank account that works best for them. Learners will also be taught about their rights related to bank accounts and cashing cheques as well as how they can keep their money safe in their daily life and online.
