TORONTO, May 29, 2020 – Epilepsy Toronto joins all of Toronto in mourning the tragic loss of Regis Korchinski-Paquet earlier this week. Our thoughts are with her family and friends during this very difficult time.
It has been reported that Ms. Korchinski-Paquet lived with a seizure-related disorder that has been speculated to have played a part in her tragic death. However, the incident is still under investigation and nothing has been confirmed in this regard. It is not known for example, whether she had experienced a seizure either prior to, or during this event. We await the results of the investigation with great interest.
What we do know is that epilepsy can be extremely challenging for many families and for the communities that serve them. We are here to offer our support to anyone who may need it.
