Yoga with Michael Alex
Classes will be held at the Epilepsy Toronto Office (468 Queen Street East, Unit 210). If you are arriving late please note that the door to our building may be locked. Please call our office (416 964 9095) and someone will let you in or search for Epilepsy Toronto on the keypad to contact us.
Class starts at 6:00 pm and goes until 7:15pm, but the actual yoga practice will be an hour long. Please do try to be on time so everyone can start together.
Yoga instructor Michael Alex is knowledgeable and skilled in providing various types of yoga including:
- “All Levels” yoga – a movement class accessible to people regardless of ability
- Meditation
- Restorative yoga (sometimes called “sleepy” yoga – it aims to create balance in the body by helping students to tap into their parasympathetic nervous systems
- A ‘combo’ of the above: sometimes called “moving into stillness”, inclusive of asana (yoga movement) followed by Restorative and/or Meditation.
The classes will be taught by highly trained yoga instructor, Michael Alex. He comes with many years’ of experience teaching various yoga types and has a personal connection to epilepsy. He is passionate about making yoga accessible and helping participants build strength, mobility, balance and get curious about how to practice in ways which speak to their own unique bodies and minds. The yoga classes are free but each participant will be asked to pay a one-time registration fee of $20 as a commitment. This will be collected on your first visit to the class.
What should I bring to the session?
Yoga mats
Wear comfortable clothing
Other props will be determined depending on type of yoga you decide on going forward.
Please complete a registration form, download HERE and return to [email protected]. This will provide your instructor with relevant information to be best assist you. Please note that your personal information will be kept confidential. When you have completed the form you can press the ‘Submit’ button at the bottom or save with your name tagged onto the end before emailing it back (ex: Yoga Intake Form_Joe Smith).
On your first day of classes you will be given a pretty standard waiver to read and sign.
