SUMMARY:UPLIFT for Adults with Epilepsy

 lumn_text]UPLIFT stands for "Using Practice and Learning to Increase Favou
 rable Thoughts”. It is a mindfulness-based cognitive behavioural therapy
  program that improves depression\, and overall psychological quality of l
 ife. Groups of 5-8 adults meet virtually for an hour once a week for 8 wee
 ks.\n\nThe sessions teach valuable coping strategies and topics that inclu
 de: coping and relaxing\, monitoring thoughts\, and preventing future low 
 moods.\n\nParticipants must:\n\n 	be at least 18 years old\n 	have epileps
 y\, seizures\, or a seizure disorder\n 	and be struggling with depression

 c_column_text]This 8-week session takes place virtually on Thursdays\, fro
 m 6:00 - 7:00\, October 5 to November 23. It is being led by Rosie Smith\,
  Director of Epilepsy Toronto's Adult Services. This UPLIFT session is spe
 cifically for adults living with epilepsy\, there are other UPLIFT session
