 s\, but especially parents of students with epilepsy. This year\, Covid-19
  has multiplied those questions and amplified those concerns. With this i
 n mind\, Epilepsy Toronto and Epilepsy Southwestern Ontario have put toget
 her a panel of experts to speak directly to parents\, offering insights i
 nto first aid and Covid-19 protocols in schools\, and resources for studen
 ts returning to the classroom and those opting to learn online. \n \nJoi
 n us Wednesday\, Sept 9\, at 7:30 pm for a Facebook Live Event\,  wi
 th panelists: Carrie Charters (Social Worker\, LHSC Children's Hospital)\
 ,  Dr. Elizabeth Kerr (Program Director The Epilepsy Classroom\, SickKid
 s)\, Steve Lynnette (member of the Special Education Advisory Committee an
 d parent)\, and Dr. Michelle Science (Infectious Diseases Consultant\, Si

 d by parents\, and then participate in a live Q&amp\;A\, moderated by Epi

 s is a paediatric social worker for the neurology program at Children’s 
 Hospital – LHSC. In her role she works with inpatients and outpatients t
 o provide clinical counselling and emotional support services\, connection
  to community resources and funding opportunities\, and helps families to 
 articulate and advocate for their needs. Carrie’s professional backgroun
 d includes work in the child and youth mental health system and in educati
 on. When out of the office\, you can find her looking for buses and trucks
  with her toddler and husband\, Zoom-ing with friends and family\, googlin
 g ‘Best Instant Pot Recipes\,’ and watching CNN.[/vc_column_text][/vc_
 column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width="1/4"][vc_single_image image="643

 abeth Kerr was awarded her Ph.D. from the University of Calgary\, followin
 g which she completed a CPA/APA accredited internship in Neuropsychology a
 t the Children’s Hospital of Western Ontario. She has been a Clinical Ne
 uropsychologist at SickKids since 1995\, holds an associate scientific app
 ointment in the Division of Neurology\, SickKids\, and an adjunct clinical
  academic appointment with the Department of Paediatrics\, the University 
 of Toronto.  As a full-time clinician\, Dr. Kerr heads up the Epilepsy Cl
 assroom and provides neuropsychological assessment and consultation to the
  Epilepsy Classroom\, the Epilepsy Surgery program\, and Metabolic Genetic
 s.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width="1/4"][vc
 _single_image image="6431" img_size="full"][/vc_column][vc_column width="3
 /4"][vc_column_text]Steve Lynette has represented Epilepsy Toronto on the 
 SEAC (Special Education Advisory Committee) for the Toronto Board of Educa
 tion for over 10 years\, and previously held the positions of the Chair an
 d Vice-Chair of the committee. SEAC makes recommendations to the board wit
 h respect to any matter affecting the establishment\, development\, and de
 livery of special education programs and services for exceptional pupils\,
  and participates in the annual review of the special education plan\, the
  annual budget process as it relates to special education\, and reviews th
 e board financial statements as they relate to special education. Steve is
  also a business owner and a parent of a child living with epilepsy.[/vc_c

 column_text]Michelle Science\, Ph.D.\, works in the Division of Infectiou

 Chami started working at Epilepsy Southwestern Ontario (ESWO) in January 2
 017 as part of her university practicum. During her practicum\, she had th
 e opportunity to help develop YEP! (Youth Engagement Program)\, created to
  help empower youth with epilepsy to build resilience and confidence in th
 eir lives. Jayme has since completed her degree in Human Ecology with an H
 onors Specialization in Family Studies and a Major in Dimensions of Leader
 ship. Jayme has worked as ESWO’s YEP! Program Facilitator\, Client Servi
 ces Manager and now\, Epilepsy Educator. Previously\, she worked in commun
 ity development for the City of London and as a Community Connector at ano
 ther local non-profit organization. In her spare time\, Jayme loves to tra
 vel\, scrapbook\, snowboard and act in local theatre. She is also an anima
 l lover and spends a lot of her time with her two cats and dog.\n\nAs an E
 pilepsy Educator at ESWO\, her role and responsibilities are to provide in
 formation to parents\, school staff\, classmates and caregivers. She enjoy
 s participating in the pediatric epilepsy program at Children’s Hospital
 \, LHSC\, to better provide coordinated care for families affected by epil
