Parent Speaker Series

Join our Parent Speaker Series, an avenue for parents to connect, learn, and share experiences in navigating the challenges of parenting a child with epilepsy or childhood disability. Listen to parents with lived experiences and knowledgeable professionals as they discuss topics like school advocacy, dual diagnoses, coping strategies, and caregiver mental health. Engage in these informative 30-45 minute sessions, followed by interactive Q&A sessions, and find a supportive community of parents who understand your journey.

Speaker for this session: Ann Blanchette.

She is excited and honoured to speak at the upcoming Epilepsy Toronto’s Parent Speaker Series on November 22. She is the proud parent of a clever, empathetic and resilient teenage son who loves reptiles, exploring Ontario for fossils and learning about military history. He also lives with epilepsy and other neurodevelopmental disorders. Please join Ann and the Epilepsy Toronto Children and Youth Services department for an interactive session in which Ann will share her parenting journey and discuss topics such as: building independence & resiliency in our children; school advocacy, and what it is like to have a seizure response service animal.
