Clinical and DUE pharmacist, educator, and medical cannabis SME

Laura Wang is a Clinical pharmacist, Neurology and General Medicine at the Hospital for Sick Children. She has been working there since 2011 providing clinical services including pharmacotherapy management, medication access and reimbursement consulting, adverse event reporting and patient education. She has participated in medication access and patient advocacy committees, and engaged medical, nursing and pharmacy trainees and staff in continuing education sessions.

She is also a medical information and drug utilization pharmacist; prepareding and reviewing hospital protocol and guideline documents on a variety of medication-related topics using advanced methods in evidence-based literature appraisal; managing communications and contingency planning during critical drug shortages and discontinuations; preparing medical communications targeting different healthcare professional groups, as well as patients and families, in a variety of different formats and advising senior hospital management on medication use and formulary management topics.

Dr. Eduard Bercovici, MSc, MD, FRCP(C)

Dr. Bercovici began his studies at the University of Toronto in neuroscience. He was interested in epilepsy early on and completed his Masters thesis in neuropharmacology of epilepsy. After completing medical school and neurology residency he went back to finish an extra year of Epilepsy fellowship at the Toronto Western Hospital.

In addition to seeing patients at the Southern Ontario Epilepsy Clinic and at Toronto Western Hospital, he is affiliated with the University of Toronto as a lecturer / clinician teacher and is devoted to teaching students and other doctors about epilepsy. He has travelled throughout Ontario visiting community epilepsy organizations to speak to patients about different aspects of epilepsy from diet, to women’s health and other topics. To improve our knowledge in epilepsy he participates in ongoing research.
